Still on the fence? Here’s what to expect:
Starting at Otford there’s a short leg-blasting climb to reach the first panoramic views over the South Pacific Ocean, from here runners will follow the ridge track through to Garrawarra Farm. Refuel at Aid Station 1 at the top of Garie Road, and then continue north with a short run along Sir Bertram Stevens Drive before turning down the Curra Moors Track.
This is a fun and speedy section of the course as the Curra Moors single track turns into the Curra Moors South trail before re-joining The Coast Track. From here the views ramp up even more as runners head along the boardwalk on the cliff tops, past Eagle Rock and onto Wattamolla Aid Station.
As you head out from Wattamolla the distance starts to tell, and the sand across Little Marley and Marley Beach is a grind depending on the tide. The views make up for the pain however.
The last two Aid Stations bring welcome relief as you close in on Bundeena, however one more challenge awaits. The infamous Sandy Track and then the final dash along the streets of Bundeena to the finish line. It’s trail running at its most raw and rewarding.
