Short course: 10.7 km +/- 250 mtr

Long course: 14.1 km +/- 440 mtr

For the other 2 courses: After a 1 km warm-up on a wide track, all racers will turn left and enjoy a very short, rocky, somewhat technical descent to a brook, which will doubtfully have water in it at this time of year. The descent enables you to get as low as possible so that the first climb you face is that much greater. Catch your breath at the top with some undulating slight downhill, a very short single track descent, and another climb. Descend again on what we fondly call "Butterfly Drive." At the bottom here, short course racers take a quick right then left to connect back with the wide valley floor trail and enjoy a gently sloped descent to the point some know as the "brook crossing" at approximately 6k. Here, short course runners will do a quick U-turn (this is the new site of the aid station) and continue back to the start along the wide valley floor trail all the way - a gradual climb on a wide, very scenic trail. Long course runners will be joining you along this last section home, too.

Long course racers ... from your descent down Butterfly Drive, where short-course racers diverge, you head left and up into a switchback-style big climb. Lots of wide track here. The steep descent back into the valley will have many considering a walk, but the experienced trail runners giggling like school kids. Another brook crossing awaits at the bottom - there always seems to be water in this one! A chance to soak your hats, before continuing nearly 2k more to the aid station. You will be able to glimpse the aid station from the brook but will not access it for 1.8km more! The return to the start is along the wide valley floor trail - a gradual climb on a wide, very scenic trail, following the same path back as the short course runners.
