Australia’s favourite adventure race series kicks off its 2015/16 season with round 1 in QLD on 25 October 2015. Based on the banks of the Brisbane River in the beautiful Kholo Gardens at Ipswich, the QLD Mountain Designs Adventure Race Australia promises to be an action-packed and fun-filled day out for competitors of all ages and skill levels, from kids and families right through to elite competitors.

Race HQ is an unexpected oasis on the outskirts of Ipswich just 40 minutes west of Brisbane. Competitors will be treated to its idyllic surrounds as the course takes them on a journey through the lush vegetation, bushland and subtropical rainforest of the area, with one of the highlights of the day sure to be the beautiful scenery alongside the Brisbane River.

The event offers up four choices of course throughout the day, with some of Australia’s top adventure racing teams expected to hit the start line for the Hardcore race. Experienced competitors will tackle the most challenging course of the day as they navigate across difficult terrain on mountain bike and on foot, with some surprise adventure legs thrown in along the way. There is sure to be some fast racing and serious competition as Hardcore teams fight their way to the finish line!

Less experienced competitors (or those just wanting more time to stop and enjoy the view!) will take on the Raw course, which comes with all the fun and action of the Hardcore course, without the pressure of technical terrain and challenging navigation. Absolute beginners who aren’t sure about their navigation can even do away with the compass and enter the GPS-assisted Explore Course.

The Family Adventure Challenge run alongside the main event gives kids and families the chance to get amongst the action and is sure to be an unforgettable experience for young racers. Families will navigate their way around the beautiful Kholo Gardens, completing a series of exciting challenge activities along the way.

There is sure to some huge smiles (and probably a bit of mud!) on the faces of all competitors, from the smallest racer right up to the Hardcore elite teams as they cross the finish line at the end of the day. Check out the ARA website to find out more and enter your team now!
