AAF On Lucy Bartholomew’s Calendar
Lucy Bartholomew is the 19 year old from Melbourne taking the trail running world by storm. She started trail running as a way to spend time with her trail running father when she was only 14 years old. Whilst crewing for her dad’s trail running she developed a passion for the mountains and hasn’t looked back since.
Lucy ran her first ultra, a 50km, only a week before running her first 100km, stating: “I didn’t know if I could make the distance. I ran this 100km with my Dad in 12 hours 30 minutes.” The following year Lucy came back to the 100km and ran solo finishing in 9 hours 36 minutes. Since then she has represented Australia and New Zealand at the Sky Running World Championship and the Trail World Championship.
Lucy’s aim in life is to run often, run long, but never out run my joy for running while following her heart doing what makes her happy.
