The races will be held in Ponta Grossa in Parana, Brazil. Ponta Grossa is a beautiful historical city, which is surrounded by many rivers, making this a destination spot for adventurers. Climbing, rappelling, and kayaking are all popular here. The city is also a cultural mecca with plenty of art galleries, restaurants, and three theaters. While you are here, don’t miss the Parque Estadual da Vila Velha, which is a park made up of rocky formations formed over millions of years. Each rock formation has its own name, depending on which object and animal they look like.

XTERRA Waihi Trail Run
Famous for its gold mining – both past and present – the township of Waihi is located at the foot of the Coromandel Peninsula on New Zealand’s North Island, less than a two-hour drive from Auckland CBD. The town is known as New Zealand’s Heart of Gold – for reasons that will become plainly obvious when you meet the people here. Located on the east side of the island, Waihi is only a 10-minute drive from Waihi Beach.
The XTERRA Waihi Trail Runs on October 21st will be based in and around the historic Karangahake Gorge, which has a myriad of old tramping (camping) sites, as well as rail and tramway tracks completely surrounded in native bush. You will have a chance to connect with both the land and its unique mining history.
Like all XTERRA events, all ages and abilities are welcome. Several races will be offered including a kids’ fun run, an 8.2K run/walk, a 13K run/walk, a 20K run/walk, and a 43.5K marathon on the trails (for runners only.)
