XTERRA Mons Klint Trail Run
This year, the XTERRA European Championship will be held in correlation with XTERRA Denmark. This means that in addition to being a huge international racing event, the XTERRA European Championships will be held in some of the most spectacular and wild areas of Denmark.
Even better for runners, the XTERRA Mons Klint 5k and 10k Trail Runs will be held the day before the XTERRA European Championships.
The Geocenter Mons Klint, where the race will take place, is a modern nature center in the midst of Denmark’s most ancient geological structures. Mons Klint is only 128 meters above sea level and made of the same unique chalk foundation that underlies most of Denmark. This type of geography is unique in Europe, so you will find unique flora and fauna found no where else on the continent.
The Mons Klint 5k and 10k Runs will take you through ancient dark forests, over wooden bridges, along the edges of steep cliffs, and down hills full of roots and technical footing.
In Shakespeare’s famous play – that takes place very close to Mons Klint – Hamlet says, “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”
