First NYC Metro XTERRA

Race Director, David Schwartz, had a moment of inspiration in September of 2015 while competing at XTERRA Nationals in Utah.  He realized XTERRA was under-served near the nation’s largest city. So he set his sights to go about making a race as epic as the city itself. Today his vision has become a reality with the first New York City metro XTERRA.

The inaugural XTERRA Way Over Yonder is set for Saturday, May 20th at Wawayanda State Park in Hewitt, New Jersey less than 50 miles from the Big Apple. With an 800 yard swim, 12 mile mountain bike and 5 mile run this race is perfect for those new to the sport and even seasoned vets looking to capture early season points toward a regional championship and coveted Maui qualification.
